1. At Lazy Goat Studio™ all our Honey is Raw Honey.

Raw Honey is a very different product than most honey found on supermarket shelves. Raw Honey, in our opinion, has not been overheated, highly strained or combined with honey from all over the country or from many other countries. Raw Honey has no additives to the basic product such as sugar, corn syrup or rice syrup.

2.  We go to extremes to protect our honey during extraction!

Why? Because maintaining the quality of the honey is all important! By controlling the extraction process we protect all the beneficial phytonutrients, pollen and enzyme rich propolis that is otherwise destroyed by heavy handed extraction. Our extraction process is simple. It involves August heat, gravity and equipment that is nearly 70 years in age. Why such old equipment?  We don't need the fancy stuff. So you wont find any super heat exchangers or heavy duty filters found at most large honey producers.

3.  Raw Basswood Honey tastes Wonderful.

Why does Lazy Goat Honey have such a reputation for delicious honey? The majority of our honey is sourced from ancient Basswoods near the Kinnickinnic River in western Wisconsin. Honey enthusiasts rave about the delicate complexities of Basswood honey with its slightly acidic finish and light floral scent.  Basswood Trees are also known as the American Linden Tree or Tilia americana.

4.  We have Happy & Healthy Bees.

In addition to the Basswood Trees growing in the Valley we have planted many additional trees, shrubs, special flowers and herbs, providing extra forage during lean times, when nectar and pollen are in short supply and critical for the bees survival. Our bees are wintered here in Wisconsin and transported across country for pollination.

Our recipes are time tested time and only a few pass the rigors of sampling by family and friends and the community that now looks forward to each new release.

6.  High quality raw honey is known to be rich in antioxidants.

Antioxidants are thought to help prevent premature aging, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.*

7.  Honey is considered better for your blood sugar levels than regular sugar.

Honey has a lower glycemic index than sugar and it also contains more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, such as calcium, potassium, vitamin C, zinc, phenolic acids and flavonoids.  Off course, like anything, it needs to be consumed in moderation.*

8.  Good quality honey may also improve your heart health.

Some reviews suggest it may help lower blood pressure, improve blood fat levels and regulate your heartbeat.

9.  Honey has been used topically on the skin for wound care for thousands of years.

And it's antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties have made it a household secret in beauty regiments and skin care still used today.

10.  Lazy Goat Raw Honey is easy to add to your diet.

Try our Lemon Creamed Honey in your hot tea, or for a sore throat, Turmeric Chai is delicious and a holistic approach for inflammation. Black Pepper is fabulous with soft cheese, and Dark Chocolate is decadently good by the teaspoonful.
